Terms of Use
Last updated October 17, 2026. Three Paragraphs is operated by Expolious LLC (“we”, “us”). Contact: ingrid@expolious.com.
1. What you are buying
For a one-time fee (currently $1.99, paid through PayPal), you may submit one piece of exactly three paragraphs for review. If we approve it, we display it in the public archive on its own page. The fee covers review and hosting; it does not guarantee publication.
2. Preservation is best-effort
We intend to keep preserved pieces online for many years, and sealed pieces until their opening date and beyond. We cannot promise that any piece, the archive, or this website will exist forever. Hosting, law, technology and circumstances change. Keep your own copy of anything you care about.
3. What is not allowed
Do not submit hate speech, harassment or personal attacks on real people, threats, content that is illegal or encourages illegal acts, sexual content, spam or advertising, links, other people's private information, or writing that is not yours. Profanity is not allowed. Sealed pieces are reviewed by the same rules before they are sealed.
4. Review and removal
Every submission is read by a person before it is published. We may reject a submission for any reason. If we reject a paid submission before publishing it, we will refund the fee. We may edit obvious typos only with your permission, and we may remove any published content at any time, at our discretion, including in response to legal requests.
5. Your rights and our license
You keep the copyright in your writing. By submitting, you confirm the work is your own and grant Expolious LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to store, display, reproduce and distribute it on this website and in archives, exports or printed collections of Three Paragraphs, with the author name you chose. You may ask us to remove your piece at any time by writing to ingrid@expolious.com with your reference code; removal ends our display of it, but copies others have made may remain.
6. Public writing, search engines and AI
A time capsule only works if people can open it. Published pieces (and sealed pieces, once they open) are public. They may be read by anyone, and may be indexed, archived and copied by search engines, web archives and AI systems, including to train AI models. Once a piece has been copied by others, it cannot be fully withdrawn, even if we remove it here. Expolious LLC does not control how third parties, including AI companies, use public content. Please write only what you are comfortable leaving to the world.
7. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see your card details. Once a piece is published (or sealed and placed in the archive), the fee is non-refundable, including if you later ask us to remove it or we remove it for breaking these terms.
8. Disclaimers
Pieces express the views of their authors, not of Expolious LLC. The site is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you submitted applies to your submission.
