Privacy Policy

What we collect when you submit

Your title, three paragraphs, chosen name or pen name, topic, seal year and email address. Everything except your email is published if your piece is approved (a sealed piece shows only title, author and opening date until then). Your email is private: we use it only to send your receipt and to tell you when your piece is published or rejected. We never sell, share or publish it.

Your published words are public

Once a piece is published (or a sealed piece opens), its title, text, author name and topic are public. Search engines, web archives and AI systems may index, store and copy them, including to train AI models. We do not control what third parties do with public content, and copies they make cannot be fully withdrawn if we later remove a piece. Your email address is never published.

Payments

Payments are handled by PayPal under PayPal's privacy policy. We receive only the payment status, amount and a transaction reference, never your card or bank details.

Visitor counter

To know how many people read the archive, our own server records each page view: the page, the date and time, and the name of the website that sent you (for example tiktok.com). It also records an anonymous daily code computed from your connection with a secret salt, so we can count unique visitors per day. We do not store IP addresses, use cookies for this, or use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers. These logs are deleted after 12 months.

Security and spam protection

To limit spam we keep short-lived counters keyed by a salted one-way code, not your IP address, and delete them within 24 hours. Unpaid draft submissions are deleted after 7 days. Rejected submissions are deleted after 30 days.

Cookies

Public pages set no cookies. The private administrator page uses one sign-in cookie for the site owner only. PayPal may set its own cookies when you pay.

Your choices

Write to ingrid@expolious.com with your reference code to ask for a copy, a correction of your name, or removal of your piece and email.

Hosting

The site is hosted by GoDaddy, whose servers may keep their own technical logs and may run security and monitoring tools.
